Easton, a town in Talbot County on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, is celebrating its tricentennial this year without the hoopla often found in other communities that have a 300-year-old heritage.

Easton is a quiet town with a population of 14,000. Known as “the 8 Best Small Town in America,” Easton has its own arts and cultural center with art galleries and stores that sell items such as collectibles and fine antiques.

People who have moved to Easton sought the small mix of small town community life and economic opportunity that attracted other folks since the early 18th century.
